Proposal

Summary

This articel will contain explanations for two kinds of manual updates.

Manually updating buildings will in general mean to replace a building with a newer version. When placing a new building over another one of the same type but older version this should save resources. Newer versions of buildings might have a different size - means more tiles. So probalby there needs to be enough free tiles around a building to replace this with a newer version.

Furthermore their are updates available to increase a bulding's capacities. Those updates will show up in the building's menu as soon as they are available and can be purchased for resources. Possible updates might be:

  • Production speed
  • Extended company internal storage
  • Extended reach
  • More effectivness (services)
  • to be continued...

Implementation related note

While updates are pretty simple to be handled by a script changing existing values replacing buildings with other buildings might be more difficult.

Workings

Replacing buildings will work just like placing any toher building for players. There is just no need to demolish the old one first.

By purchasing an update by simply clicking on an according icon at the building's menu the player will make it available.
