Proposal
Summary
The pattern system itself sounds pretty fancy but ain't. Basically this just means graphics are not put on the map split up into small images in tilesize, but as the whole image placed via offsets. A predefined area of the grid will mark the tiles being blocked by the object ingame.
The advantage of this system is the simplicity of creating new graphical content. Images can be created without the toilesome process of splitting them up into tilesized pieces.
