Problem
In the Anno series a main problem is, that there are only a few different types of ships are available and they act very calcuable. By attack the winner of the fight was decided. With the two following two ideas, which will be implement, the problem will be bypassed.
Solution 1: more types of ships
The first step is, that are more different types of ships will be available. They will be orientated on real types of ships of the 18. century.
It should be possible for everyone to identify the quality's of a ship easily. The ships should be classified in tradeships and warships. So it's easier to different them. Also some easy matchable features should be implement, to different what kind of ship is the best for a special task. Like arming, rig etc.
Solution 2: individual ships
In order that the game become more exiting and risky, it should be possible to individualize your ships in limited border.The ships should be customise by the following features:
- Department: Here you can decide how much space will be used for storage and for aringdeck. It's not possible to use the hole space for one thing. There's a limited space, in this you can decide, like like 60% - 90% for storage. Your choice decide if your ship become a trade- or warship. But it depends of the ground class of a ship, if you can use the main part of the space for storage or arming.
- Crew: At this point you can configure in a limited border the dimension of the crew. The number of man control the speed of reloading the canons. More man == faster shooting. If there is wood and cloth in the storage, the crew can repair there ships by-self, not completely but partially.
- Arming: Configure what kind and the number of arming has your ship.
- Ammunition dump: You can configure how much of the storage (in percent %) is used for the ammunition.
- Rig: Customise how much rigging a ship has, it will be increase the maximum of speed for the ship.
A special point is, to use explored upgrades for your ships. Not every upgrade works with every kind of ship. What kind of upgrades for ships are available have to be discussed.
